Size charts vary between brands and even between shoe models. Always check the brand’s official size guide when a fit is borderline.
Why shoe sizes differ between countries
Shoe sizes are not one shared scale: EU numbers describe the length of the shoe last, US and UK sizes use their own numeric scales, and JP (in centimetres) and CN (in millimetres) describe the length of the foot. The same physical foot therefore gets a different number in each country, which is exactly what this tool reconciles for you.
How to use this shoe size converter
Pick the system you already know — EU, US, UK, JP or CN — type the size, and the matching row appears across every other system at once. You can start from any system and switch freely: conversion is two-way. Click any row of the full chart to load that size back into the converter.
How to measure your foot for the right size
Stand on a sheet of paper with your heel against a wall, mark the tip of your longest toe, and measure heel to mark in centimetres. Do this in the evening, when feet are slightly larger, and measure both feet — size to the longer one.
Tips for a comfortable fit
Shop for shoes later in the day and with the socks you will actually wear. Remember that EU sizes reflect the length of the shoe, not your foot, so a half size of leeway is completely normal.
Brand-specific men’s and women’s sizing notes
Most global brands follow the EU scale for their labelled size, so the conversion table above is a reliable starting point.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the shoe size systems?
EU numbers are based on the length of the shoe (in the Paris point system), US and UK use their own historic scales with the UK usually one size smaller, and JP (cm) / CN (mm) state the length of the foot. The chart lines every system up against the same foot length.
How do I know my correct shoe size?
Measure the length of your foot in centimetres (heel to longest toe, standing) and read it across the chart. Because brands cut slightly differently, treat the result as your starting size and confirm with the brand’s fit notes.
Are these sizes valid for every brand?
No chart is universal. They are standard retail conversions; some brands run large or small by as much as half a size. For a new brand, compare with its own size guide rather than relying only on this table.
What does the JP or CN size number actually measure?
JP is the foot length in centimetres and CN in millimetres, so a JP size of 25 corresponds to a CN size of 250 and to a foot length of 25 cm. These columns help when a brand states sizes by foot length.
What should I do if I am between two sizes?
For everyday shoes most people size up to the longer option, especially with closed-toe footwear or when you will wear thicker socks. When the chart shows a nearest value, treat the other direction as your tighter bound.
